* Any living Armed Forces personnel either currently serving honorably or those who have served honorably from any war, who having served in a war zone has been wounded by enemy action or who have been injured or contracted a serious illness that could be rated at least 10% disabled by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Purple Heart recipients, victims of friendly fire, injured in a war zone, those who suffer from PTSD, Agent Orange effects and Gulf War syndrome.

* If you feel your circumstance do not meet the above standards but feel you still qualify please e-mail the SSFOA and share your story. We will consider your request on a case by case basis.

The individual eligible to receive the Silver Star Banner would not have to be eligible for the Purple Heart or any other military decoration in order to receive a Silver Star Banner. While we strive to present a Silver Star Banner and certificate to every wounded Soldier request, we rely on donations. If we do not have funds to provide the Banner, a certificate will be sent and the name of the recipient will be placed on a waiting list for a Banner. The request will be filled as quickly as possible.

PLEASE READ. All Banner recipients will be added to our Alumni listed on our website. If due to security reasons you cannot allow your name to be listed, please send your 214 when requesting a Banner to:
