SILVER STAR SERVICE BANNER
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUEST FORM BELOW
Please read the qualifications and then fill out the form below to request a 8.5" X 14" Silver Star Banner for a wounded or ill service member. SSFOA issues the one star Banner only.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Silver Star Families of America define wounded as:
"Definition of war zone determined by the Department of Defense"
* Any living Armed Forces personnel either currently serving honorably or those who have served honorably from any war, who having served in a war zone has been wounded by enemy action or who have been injured or contracted a serious illness that could be rated at least 10% disabled by the Department of Veterans Affairs. All wounds, injuries or illness must have originated in a war zone. Purple Heart recipients, victims of friendly fire, injured in a war zone, those who suffer from PTSD, Agent Orange effects and Gulf War syndrome. ( Due to costs we do not do memorial Service Banners)

The individual eligible to receive the Silver Star Banner would not have to be eligible for the Purple Heart or any other military decoration in order to receive a Silver Star Banner. While we strive to present a Silver Star Banner and certificate to every wounded Soldier request, we rely on donations. If we do not have funds to provide the Banner, a certificate will be sent and the name of the recipient will be placed on a waiting list for a Banner. The request will be filled as quickly as possible.

Sending Photos of Banner presentations, wounded or ill service members to SilverStarFamilies@gmail.com deems SSFOA permission to use on the our website.
DISCLAIMER: The Silver Star Families of America is dependant solely on donations. It is our desire to see ALL wounded receive a Silver Star Banner. However FREE Banners are limited to one per family (example: if Banner is given to a wife or a mother, grandmother ect. for their wounded loved one, then in addition, other family members are not eligible for the Banner. NOTE: DUE TO HEAVY DEMAND, Requests for Service Banners have been delayed. Please bear with us. If you have requested a Service Banner and have not received it please reapply or contact Mrs Harick at the address above. We apologize.
When your requested item(s) are ready for shipping, they are in good shape to be mailed to you. If your requested item arrives damaged, for replacement there will be a fee. To reship a certificate you will need to pay a replacement/reship/repackage fee of $5.00.
If a service banner is damaged, a replacement fee of $20.00 will need to be paid for replacement/reship/repackage.
If your service banner package has been returned to SSFOA, deemed undeliverable, there will be a $10.00 fee to reship/repackage.
The SSFOA relies soley on the kind and generous support of our friends, membership and donors to operate all programs at no cost to our recipients. When items need to be replaced we must charge a fee to pay for reshipping and repackaging. All items are in good shape when intially shipped from SSFOA, after that 99.9% appear to arrive to the recipient, in good shape as well.
