TO ALL GOLD STAR MOTHERS

There is no more revered group of people in this country than Gold Star Mothers.  To suffer the sacrifice of a child in defense of freedom and of this country is pain beyond all understanding.  All we can say is that we honor the sacrifice of your child and that we honor you.

If you have lost a child to war you are a Gold Star Mother.  But there is actually a Veteran Service Organization called the American Gold Star Mothers of America.  www.goldstarmoms.com

American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. is an organization of mothers whose sons or daughters have made the supreme sacrifice while in any branch of the Military or Naval Service of the United Stares of American, or dies as a result of such service.

This organization was founded on June 4, 1928, when a group of twenty-five mothers residing in Washington, DC, met to make plans to organize a national organization to be known as American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., a nondenominational, non-profitable and nonpolitical organization. On January 5, 1929, the organization was incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia.

The American Gold Star Mothers gather together for support and love.  No one can understand a loss of a child like another mother who has been through the same experience.  Their motto is “Perpetuating the noble principles for which they fought and died.”

If you are a Gold Star mother, we ask that you consider joining the American Gold Star Mothers.  Please request our membership packet. You will also need a copy of DD Form 1300, Report of Casualty, to submit with your application.

Come join us so we may help each other through the hard times and honor the sacrifice made by our beloved children.
